The best outing for me is going to an escape room with friends. Tackling different challenges in a timely manner with those I love truly fills my cup. Born and raised in Mexico, I embarked on my first major adventure by moving to the U.S. to earn my BA in International Relations from BYU. While studying there, I developed a passion for business, which led me to enter the workforce at Daikin Technologies in the Procurement department. Starting as a business analyst, I quickly advanced to the role of commodity manager, and discovered a deep-seated love for supply chain management almost immediately. Despite being a recent graduate with limited business experience, I swiftly adapted to overcoming challenges such as achieving 100% on-time delivery for the cooling season in 2021, successful price negotiations that led to $90,000 in savings, and implementation of dual-source initiatives in a record time of 12 months from proposal to first day of production. Beyond these projects, I find myself feeling proudest about the initiatives I led to bring together my group of buyers. I recognized that my team was feeling discouraged due to a lack of industry or role knowledge, so I started a buyer bootcamp to improve team relationships; this led to a 10% reduction in late deliveries within 3 weeks of the start of the training. I thrived on the dynamic challenges and enjoyed collaborating with various departments, colleagues, and suppliers to find efficient solutions. After taking a break to focus on my family, I am now pursuing an MBA at Texas A&M. I am excited to acquire the technical skills necessary to drive impactful change within a company and, more importantly, to make a difference in every person’s life through my work.
