Ashtyn Lockmiller

Howdy! My name is Ashtyn Lockmiller, and if there is one thing that has defined my life, my education, and my relationships, it is consistent hard work. Hard work has opened many doors in my life, allowing me to learn more about myself, my strengths, and my passions for solving complex problems, continuing to learn, and practicing servant leadership. These passions are what led me to Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in Industrial Engineering.

Throughout college, I have worked on staff at a local church in the college ministry. Through this role, I grew in my strengths of organization, leadership, and problem-solving. I have planned and executed retreats, weekly services, and small groups for the college ministry, which has grown to over 100 students.

I was also able to implement things I was learning in class to make the systems and practices of the ministry more efficient. One example of this was using data analytics to track our communication and interactions with students. This helped us to simplify the problem we were having with student retention and create a plan to better engage with students.

I also did a project management internship at a mechanical contracting company, where I learned the importance of teamwork and adaptability. Going into an industry that I did not study required me to adapt and learn quickly. Throughout this role, I earned the opportunity to complete job cost projections for a $134 million project, where I developed my attention to detail. I also learned the importance of teamwork in this role and my passion for working with others to achieve a common goal.

In my last year of engineering at Texas A&M, I made the decision to pursue a Master of Business Administration. I chose this path because I believe that the combination of technical skills from an engineering degree, the development and business acumen from an MBA, and my personality make me a strategic leader.

I'm someone who will work hard no matter who is watching, build up my team, and bring value to your company with my unique experiences.
