Howdy, I’m Charles Dailey. I’m an electrical engineer, and at the heart of everything I do is a
desire to create the best value for customers and the public. From my very first job as a barista
to my years in engineering, I’ve noticed a trend: the moments I’ve been most proud of are when
I could see the products or services I helped create make a real difference for the consumer.
That pattern has shaped the way I approach my work and the principles I live by. In every role
I’ve had, I’ve carried three core values with me: honesty, service, and responsibility. Honesty
means being transparent about what’s possible and what’s not. Service means focusing on the
public’s and customer’s needs. And responsibility means standing behind the work I do and
expecting those around me to do the same.
I put these values into action at my last job when a full month of research hit a dead end. Rather
than quietly moving on and leaving the problem for someone else, I was upfront with my
manager that the original design wasn’t meeting customer needs and that we’d have to start
fresh. That honesty opened the door to rethinking the project, and I ultimately reworked the
concept into four specialized systems — each one better suited to specific customer
requirements than the original design.
I believe that if we understand our customers, anticipate their challenges, and solve their
problems better than anyone else, the rest will take care of itself — including the bottom line. My
engineering work has taught me how to approach problems from both a technical and practical
perspective. I’ve seen firsthand how design decisions impact not just product performance, but
also customer trust and loyalty.
Looking forward, my career goal is to lead R&D at a company where I can bridge the gap
between technical teams and business strategy. I want to focus on the business and marketing
side in a way that empowers our engineers to do their best work — to give them the time, tools,
and clarity they need to produce truly impactful products. In my view, when engineering
excellence is supported by strong leadership and a deep understanding of the market, that’s
when innovation thrives and customers get the best possible solutions.
In short, I’m excited about creating products that matter, supporting the people who build them,
and making sure customers walk away feeling that they’ve received exceptional value. That’s
what drives me, and that’s the mindset I want to bring to your team
