Howdy! My name is Kishan Patel and I am a recent Texas A&M graduate in electrical engineering. My love for electrical engineering came from growing up around printed circuit boards for pressure transmitters and flow computers in my dad’s office. My passion is electrical and automation controls across multiple industries, mainly in the oil and natural gas industry. Through my past three summers, I have used my skills in the classroom and applied into real world applications. At Southern Star, I wrote PLC programming code and PID tuning to create a model natural gas pipeline system that provided accurate pressure measurement. At Mott Macdonald, I modernized the standards for a 230kV substation through the use of AutoCAD for engineering drawings in order to help deploy new standards for the clients that we worked with throughout the summer.
Outside of my experience in industry, I have also worked on projects that are curated to my own passions such as a real-time vehicle telemetry system. I am also working on an autonomous robot car that drives itself between rooms to deliver food, drink and medication. I built this project as I also live with my grandparents back home and wanted to make something that would create less work for them. What sets me apart is my versatility as an engineer is the mix of hands-on technical experience from industry and projects, business acumen I will acquire in my journey as an MBA at Texas A&M, and a collaborative mindset.
