Kyle Compton

Howdy! I’m Kyle Compton. As a production assistant for Wilson-Company during my
undergraduate studies in Petroleum Engineering, I worked to produce hydraulic equipment and
coordinated the distribution into the oil and gas industry. I became equally passionate and
experienced in the connections of the business world in the oil and gas industry. I was able to
analyze data in the warehouse to optimize production and distribution operations, while creating
comprehensive workflows to be followed throughout the entire company. This encouraged me to
pursue my master’s in business administration at the Mays Business School following graduating
with my bachelor’s degree. In my free time I am always looking to improve my soft skills to put
my future self into a better position to lead a group of people. As an intramural sport coordinator
for the Rec Sports department, I lead a staff of around 40 officials and supervisors where my soft
skills are always being tested and fine-tuned. Aside from training them in their physical duties,
I’m also tasked with leading the team in developing their professional skills. Leading the team
has given me insight and experience in how to lead a team the right way, and how to relate to
everyone and develop individuals to make the most of their talents in a team environment. In the
future, I plan to translate these technical and soft skills into a career in the oil and gas industry.
As the world continues to grow, expand and change, it is critical to create energy solutions to
safely provide the world with their energy needs. I have developed a very strong passion for the
petroleum industry and analyzing data to find complex solutions to these problems. I would love
to combine these passions with the skills I have acquired through my experience in multiple
facets to optimize safe energy solutions to help people all throughout the world.
