Howdy,
My name is Marcus Glass, and I am an MBA and Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering Candidate at Texas A&M University. After surgery years ago, where I had self-absorbing screws put into my knee, I found myself wanting to create medical devices that could do more than repair a knee but save lives. My undergraduate biomedical engineering career provided me opportunities to not only research and develop a medical device with a corporate sponsor, but also provided me the technical expertise to evaluate medical devices before they went to clinical trials. In my research I had been able to use animal models to see how the body may respond to medical devices that will one day be in patients. Outside of my degree, I was elected and served as the Speaker of the Student Senate, where I was able to advocate for students to university administration and government officials.
In my final year of undergrad, I realized that through my biomedical engineering and senate experience, leading projects that brought people together to make an impact on the lives of individuals through medicine is what I truly enjoyed. Ultimately this led to my pursuit of an MBA. My pursuit of an MBA at Texas A&M University has provided me with the business and collaboration knowledge needed to accomplish my goal of bringing others together to make an impact on lives through medicine.
I am interested at being part of the Pfizer team because of their commitment to making, “breakthroughs that change patients’ lives.” I believe that their mission statement aligns with my lifelong goal of serving others through meaningful innovation. The knowledge and skills I have acquired in my academic career have prepared me to give back to patients and fulfill Pfizer’s mission.
