Howdy! My name is Marshall Schier and I’m a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from Texas A&M. During my time as an undergraduate, I led a senior design project in collaboration with the Robotics and Automation Design Lab. My team and I built a lunar terrain simulator that the lab would use to evaluate their new lunar rovers in development. It was a challenging, hands-on multidisciplinary experience that required extensive communication and project management. Throughout the development process, I loved coordinating the work and timelines needed to successfully complete the project. I also served as the Co-Director of Christian Engineering Leaders, a student organization where I ran weekly meetings, supervised organization events, and oversaw staff development. Both of these experiences developed my leadership skills, public speaking, and communication skills.
I am currently pursuing my MBA through the Engineering MBA program at Mays Business School also at Texas A&M. I made the decision to pursue an MBA because I want to understand the business side of engineering to better lead teams of engineers in product development. I am committed to being a lifelong learner, not just professionally, but in every project I take on. Whether it’s a difficult engineering problem or learning how to fix my golf swing, I find joy in diving into complex problems and figuring out how to come to refined solutions.
As I look toward my post-graduate goals, I’m drawn to roles that I can use my skills to better a team. I want to be in positions where I can lead teams through complex challenges. I’m excited to hear more about your company, and I appreciate your time today. Thank you.
