Howdy! I’m Preston Greenwood, a problem solver who tackles challenges head-on. I’ve completed three internships in the semiconductor industry, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of technical and customer-facing roles. In each of these positions, I gained unique perspective on the life cycle of semiconductor products. More importantly, I saw how critical it is to have people who can connect the dots between engineering and business. I strive to be one of those people as I add an MBA from Mays Business School to my undergraduate degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Texas A&M University.

For my Senior Capstone project, I developed the software for an automatic dual-zone smoker called SmokeMaster. This project involved using a Raspberry Pi to read sensor inputs and control two butterfly valves to adjust the chamber temperature as needed. I also implemented data transmission over a LAN Wi‑Fi network so that the smoker’s status could be monitored remotely.

This past summer, I collected benchmarking data on CPU place-and-route times for real customer designs. By implementing BIOS and OS tuning, I achieved a 19% improvement in performance. I compiled my findings into a presentation shared across the Embedded Sales team, leading to $360,000 in sales within the first two weeks with future orders projected to be in the millions.

I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, and have spent the past seven years in Texas. My childhood was shaped by a love for sports, particularly basketball, which I played throughout high school. That competitive drive and team-oriented mindset carries over to many aspects of my life today. I am seeking a role where I can leverage my business acumen and technical knowledge to optimize, automate, or resolve business challenges driving real impact. My career interests include hands-on technical work in addition to customer facing opportunities such as technical sales or field application engineering.
