Rajat Malani

Hello, my name is Rajat Malani. I recently developed a concern about AI potentially taking over many future roles, including those in my field. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2024, I realized that while I enjoyed working with technology, I was more passionate about leading and managing teams than doing the technical development work. Additionally, I recognized that AI could often perform some development tasks more efficiently than I could.

During my undergraduate studies, I served as a project manager on several computer science and electrical engineering projects, including my Senior Capstone, which was based on AI. This experience sparked my interest in team management and leadership. While working as a Software Engineering Intern at Regions Bank, I found myself drawn to the business management aspects of the role. I worked closely with cross-functional teams, improving coordination between engineering and business departments. My role involved ensuring that both sides understood each other—clarifying what was feasible for the technical side and what the business side needed. Recognizing the importance of business acumen and effective leadership, I am pursuing an MBA from Mays Business School to develop my business knowledge and leadership skills further.

Upon completing my MBA, my goal is to lead talented engineering teams, ensuring they feel valued, motivated, and aware of the impact their work has on the business. My vision is to bridge the gap between technology and business, leveraging my technical background and management skills to drive innovation and achieve excellence. I am committed to lifelong learning, adaptable to change, and genuinely passionate about helping others succeed.
