Reed Powell

Howdy! My name is Reed Powell. After receiving my undergraduate degree in Finance and Marketing from Mary Hardin-Baylor, I spent four years working for Ernst & Young’s Technology Risk subservice line. During my time at EY, I managed several client engagements with Fortune 100 companies and some of the world’s most notorious brands. Working with a Big Four accounting firm taught me how to manage a heavy workload and allowed me to gain valuable leadership experience, even outside of my rank. Although I loved my line of work, I wanted to expand my skill set outside of technology compliance. Therefore, getting my MBA will allow me to pivot my career where I can utilize my strategic strengths. Throughout my MBA journey, I look to reskill and retool my finance and data analytics skills. Additionally, I would like to learn more about emerging technologies such as generative AI, where I hope to bring this knowledge to a future employer someday.

I’m drawn to organizations with a customer-centric approach and an innovation-driven environment. I’ve always been intrigued by entrepreneurship and start-up places where creativity and ownership go hand in hand. I’m inspired by companies that move with agility, where your day-to-day work can impact millions of people worldwide. I’m especially motivated by pioneers who not only lead in their industries but also create entirely new ones.
