My professional career began in 2019, after graduating from Texas A&M with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. I then joined the U.S. Navy as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer and served for 5 years, deploying twice. In my time in the Navy I learned how to effectively command and motivate teams in achieving excellence. My details completed complex construction problems in high-stress environments, which has led me to develop time, personnel, and stress management skills. I utilized resource balancing and Gantt scheduling to complete projects efficiently and on time. I molded my determination and work ethic through long hours of selfless service while deployed to Korea. I was fortunate to learn perspective in this exposure to new cultures while working alongside foreign forces in exercises of 250+ personnel. With a focus on my technical skills, I earned my certification as a licensed Civil Engineer in the State of Texas and managed a $220M portfolio on base across the Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering fields at Camp Pendleton.
What I found out above all else in my time in service is that I love the pre-award side of construction and land development. The process of preparing a blank slate parcel of land and turning into something useful to society intrigues me. The Department of Defense has developed most of the real estate it owns, so most projects are retrofits. This lack of creativity led me to leave the Navy in pursuit of an MBA at May’s, so that I can bring my technical acumen and business knowledge together, and liaise between both worlds in the land development sector.
I am particularly interested in CBRE because of its R.I.S.E. values that align with my personal ethics and that of Texas A&M University. Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence are mirrored within myself and the Aggie code of ethics. I am confident that my values and experiences will mesh seamlessly into CBRE’s , and I am thrilled for an opportunity to learn more throughout a long career with a top company in the field of real estate development.
