Howdy! My name is Ryan Steele. I work in emergency management, where my focus is helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from complex incidents. My work sits at the intersection of public safety, technology, and leadership, and I’m passionate about building systems that help people make better decisions under pressure.
What I bring to the table is a combination of operational experience and strategic thinking. Emergency management requires the ability to coordinate across multiple organizations, interpret incomplete information, and lead during uncertain situations. I’ve spent my career building those capabilities by designing exercises, improving coordination between departments, and developing practical tools that help organizations operate more effectively during disasters and major incidents.
A large part of my work focuses on turning complex problems into practical systems. That includes developing multi-department functional exercises, improving data and technology integration for emergency operations, and helping teams translate plans into real-world action. I also place a strong emphasis on leadership development and mentorship because emergency management is ultimately about people working together under pressure.
Currently, I’m completing my MBA to strengthen the strategic, financial, and organizational side of my work. My goal is to combine operational emergency management experience with broader leadership and management training so I can take on larger roles shaping preparedness and resilience at the organizational and community level.
If you’re working on projects related to emergency management, public safety coordination, or organizational preparedness, I’d welcome the opportunity to connect and continue the conversation.
