Vanessa Gonzales

Howdy! My name is Vanessa Gonzales. After earning my degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, I began my career as a special education teacher. I would design individual education plans, collaborate with other teachers and therapists to build an inclusive classroom culture. This allowed me to receive the Teacher of Promise award. I realized that what I enjoy about my career is not only seeing students grow, but the leadership and strategic planning skills needed to make my classroom successful. My passion led me to transition into the non-profit sector and become a director, and now I am pursuing my MBA at Texas A&M Mays Business School to deepen my strategic leadership skills and reach my full potential.

In my career, I excelled as a leader because of my strategic planning skills and motivation to achieve organizational goals. As a director, I led the initiative to increase recognition of our program by networking with other organizations and businesses. I also represent my leadership skills in my previous organization as a whole. Serving on the board for the Latinx employee resource group to collaborate and bring resources and professional development to the Latinx community.

Throughout my MBA, I have been able to deepen my expertise in strategic leadership, refining my ability to navigate complex challenges, and positioning myself to reach my full potential as a leader who inspires growth, drives impact, and creates lasting change.

I am confident in my ability to contribute to any organization, where I can add to their mission of empowering every person within the organization to reach their full potential. While using my background in non-profit leadership, I can help foster growth and success within the company through inclusivity and strategic planning. I look forward to being part of an innovative organization.
